Alive 06:54
Alive Let's stroll down the road which we live upon Take the path that leads to our favorite pond We'll sit beneath the oldest tree Baby, you and me will dig a hole in the mud Let's lie down in the ground, be covered by the earth Turn this tomb into a womb of our rebirth We'll be buried to our necks Oh, the best part's coming next As we begin to hear the language of the world It's alive It's alive It's alive We're alive too We're alive, oh yeah Come with me and you'll see It's all worth dying for We'll begin to hear the language of the world

The Meeting 03:18
The Meeting If the sky was cloudless The stars shining bright The moon came crowding The deep dark night Wherever you are Wherever I may be We'll look up darling And see the same scene Oh I'll meet you by the moon So, time clicks onward Maybe not With all precautions We never stop Wherever you are Whenever I may be Let's look up darling To see the same scene Oh I'll meet you Meet you by the moon But this meeting of ours Could never come too soon Oh I'll meet you by the moon But this meeting of ours Could never come too soon Oh I'll meet you by the moon

Supreme Being Your god is a true god My god is a true god This god is a true god That god is a true god Their god is a true god Our god is a true god What god is a true god When god is a true god No god is a true god All god is a true god It's difficult to take the first step But it's easy to lead once you've started It's easy to be destructive But it will be difficult to be you in the end There I go once again Rattle through my head Looking for a piece of god Finding you instead Here I am at the ends Of my beginnings I am yours and you are my... There I go once again Rattle through my head Looking for a piece of god Finding you instead Here we are at the ends Of our beginnings I am yours and you are my Supreme being

We Will Never Learn To Bow The cop lights flashed behind me To my delight there was no siren So I just thought they'd pass on by The stop seems a bit intrusive To my surprise a bit abusive I stood my ground And laughed a little while And asked with a smile Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are? Who do you really think you are? Handcuffs tight and steady Karma must come defending My lovely right to live here freely Fate found fondness for me It blew the roof off this story My head held high I walk ever onward Forever doomed to ponder Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are? Who do you really think you are? We will never learn to bow We will never learn to bow We will never learn to bow We will never learn to bow We will never learn to bow We will never learn to bow We will never learn to bow We will never learn to bow To you anyhow Who do you think you are? Who do you really think you are?

Pretty Boxes 05:19
Pretty Boxes Look at all the pretty boxes Here we are in pretty boxes We were born in pretty boxes And when we die Oh, the pretty, pretty boxes Don't forget to appreciate your mama Don't forget to appreciate your papa We're awake cause squawking boxes We love to live in hulking boxes We love to drive the rolling boxes We go to work to fill more boxes Don't forget to love your mama Don't forget to love your papa Don't forget to love each other Like you would a sister or a brother, baby It's time to break down these busted boxes Find the rhythm that binds and locks us To the cycles, the sacred circles All these circles are beautiful Are beautiful Are beautiful Pretty, pretty Pretty boxes Pretty, pretty Pretty boxes Pretty boxes Da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da...

Smile Lovely 02:27
Smile Lovely Riding with my baby to the west coast Gonna settle on some land we'll call our own Never regretted a decision or the path we chose Never forgetting the ones that call us home Wind swept moonlit nights and sunny days Always knew we'd live our lives this way Hitting rock bottom always felt this good Sooner or later we knew we would Smile lovely smile lovely smile Smile lovely smile lovely smile Wading in the river, walking upstream Looking for salvation in the swaying trees Have a few moments, a pocket full of dreams Sooner or later we'll all be free Dancing to the stars in the pale moonlight As morning breaks our souls take flight Hitting rock bottom always felt this good Sooner or later we knew we would Smile lovely smile lovely smile Smile lovely smile lovely smile Smile lovely smile lovely Smile lovely smile lovely

Wild And Beautiful I didn't really know who you were last night I don't know if I do now You exploded all over like a supernova Rightly I had to step out I'm feeling a little bit beside myself Can't figure out how to get back in I just realized you've been simmering inside yourself Now you're out in the open You shouted out into the nighttime You shouted out into the nighttime You shouted out into the nighttime You shouted out You screamed at the top of your lungs You screamed at the top of your lungs You screamed and now I hear you You're wild and beautiful You're wild and beautiful You're wild and beautiful You're wild and beautiful I think I need to go be by myself Without you on my shoulder I'm looking for the music that's in my heart If it's for you we'll never be over I'll shout it out into the nighttime I'll shout it out into the nighttime I'll shout it out into the nighttime I'll shout it out I screamed at the top of my lungs I screamed at the top of my lungs I screamed at the top of my lungs I screamed I still love you I still love you I still love you I still love you I still love you I still love you I still love you I still love you

Under The Sun I woke up early this morning To toothpaste kisses on my forehead I see the sunshine in your smile But it took a little while To come back to consciousness To realize the consequence of dreaming my whole life Did I dream you, over and over? Did I dream you, more or less sober? Those first steps out into the daylight Are fraught with the war declared inside Oh I won't waste another second Yeah I'll be where my heart was beckoned To come back to consciousness To realize the consequence of dreaming my whole life Did I dream you, over and over? Did I dream you, more or less sober? Did I dream you? Did I dream you? What are we gonna do with this stolen afternoon? Who'd we steal it from? Maybe from everyone Perhaps from no one So let's just settle for the sun What are we gonna do with this stolen afternoon? Who'd we steal it from? Maybe from everyone Perhaps from no one at all So let's just settle for the sun Let's just settle for the sun Let's just sit under the sun

Rivka's Lullaby La la la la la

about

Recorded over nine days during January 2009 in a brutally cold studio overlooking the "El" and Chicago's famous Double Door, the record is universal and deeply rooted in experiences of redemption, love, renewal and--fittingly for an album recorded in January--rebirth. There might not have been much heat, but the record feels warm and alive, wild and beautiful.
